SPECIAL BOOST PHASE OPERATION

To ensure reliable starting, the Optidrive E2 initially ramps the motor voltage up to rated frequency and voltage, before reducing the frequency and voltage to the desired operating point, see diagrams below.

Ratings explained:

IP55

The IP55 rating means this unit has a protection level of five against solid-body ingress, and a protection level of five against the ingress of water. Five is the second-highest protection level against solid bodies, meaning the unit is protected against dust ingress to the point of disallowing harmful deposits. Protection against water ingress goes up to level eight, and a five means this unit will be protected against the effects of low-pressure jets of water from any direction.

NEMA 12

Type 12 enclosures are intended for industrial indoor use primarily to provide a degree of protection against dust, falling dirt, and dripping noncorrosive liquids.
